William Hull Biography

William Hull, an American soldier was born in Derby on June 24, 1753. In 1772 he graduated Yale University. He attended in Litchfield Connecticut, where William studied law.

William Hull was serving in the army of the United States of America as: a captain, major, lieutenant colonel. William Hull was in the battles of: Trenton, Princeton, Monmouth and so on. For his services in the army Hull was recognized by George Washington.  Hull had also served as the governor of Michigan Territory. He was set on this post by Thomas Jefferson.

After finishing serving in the army he went to his wife, Sarah Fuller in Massachusetts, where he served as a judge. William Hull had four children: Abraham Fuller Hull, Ann Binney Hickman, Eliza McLellan and
Maria  Campbell Hull.

William Hull died in Massachusetts on November 29, 1825, at the age of 72.
