Erich Kastner Biography

Emil Erick Kastner , German author was born in Dresden , Saxony on February 23, 1899. Casters parents were Emil Kastner, master saddle-maker and Ida Augustin, maidservant and housewife. He was grown up with  them, no matter that Mr. Kastner was not his natural father.

Erick wrote his autobiography, that he named When I Was a Little Boy in 1957. As known from his autobiography, he had a good childhood: he did not have brother or sister, but he had many friends.

Kaster started studying at a teacher training school in Dresden, but he left the school in 1916, when he had not completed needful courses to become qualified to work as a teacher in public schools.
