John Agyekum Kufuor Biography

John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor, Ghanaian statesman was born in Kumasi on December 8, 1938. John started studying at Osey Turu Boys' college in 1951. He finished the college in 1953 and in 1984 attended to Prempeh College, he graduated it in 1958. He was studying  at Loncoln’s college from 1959 till 1961, at Oxford University from 1961 till 1964. John was  interested in writing and sport.

In 1962 he married to Theresa  Mensah. The couple has 5 children.  Kufuor and his family religiously belong to the Roman Catholic Church.

During 2007-2008 he was serving as the 2nd president of the 4th republic of Ghana. Mr. John has got many awards, for example: Chatham House Prize, World Federation of Honorary Consuls’ Order of the Gold Star, Honorary Doctorate from the University of Cape Coast, Knight Commander of the Order of Bath of the UK by Queen Elizabeth and many more.
